David Evans
Witty and Amusing
Enjoyed this book tremendously. David Evans gives an insider’s view of what it meant to be gay in small-town England in the sixties – compared with London and the music industry a few years later. I loved the intimate view of some well-known names – Freddie Mercury, Elton John et al – seen off-stage and amongst friends. Laughed a lot at his account of his trip to Barbados – as an envoy with Elton John’s Christmas presents. That springs to mind every time I see Elton on the telly! A witty and thought-provoking book.
